PENSA Newsletter September-December 2002, Vol.3 No.3 Message From Editor Dear PENSA members: The 8th Congress of PENSA in Kochi, Japan has just finished. We would like to congratulate Professor Shohei Ogoshi and his team for the very successful and fruitful congress. In addition, we would like to show our great appreciation to the contribution of USD 8,000 from the JPENS. This will enhance PENSA ability to perform more activities to our members. In the PENSA International Committee meeting there, one important issue discussed was how PENSA could promote PEN Society in Asian Countries. We are planning about the training program or providing scholarship to the personnel working in this area to visit the nutritional support center in our member countries. Information about the present activity in clinical nutrition in every country is mandatory for our further planning. So if you have any information about the PEN society in any countries please do not hesitate to contact us through the sicct@mahidol.ac.th Educational session in this news letter come from the 7th Congress of PENSA: "Hospital-based nutrition intervention in India-Practical issues" by Dr Sarath Gopalan. India will be the host of the 9th Congress of PENSA next year will be held in November 6-8, 2003. Goa, India. The more update abstract from the recent congress will be presented in our next news letter. Lastly, Professor Zhu Ming Jiang from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Beijing, China has asked us to invite you to join the 13th Chinese International Symposium of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition in Guangzhou, China which will be held in March 10-14, 2003.
