Dear
PENSA members:
We have just
had a great event at Pattaya, Thailand last
month. The cerebration of PENSA's 10th anniversary
was held along with the Scientific meeting;
the 10th PENSA Congress "The Future of
Nutrition Support and cooperation Among the
Asian Regions." There are more than 400
participants from all over Asia as well as other
part of the world. Invited speakers from European
countries and USA gave their impression that
the quality of presentation and studies displayed
in the meeting met the international standard.
Thus, we should be proud of the progress in
scientific knowledge in Asia. In addition, it
was a great opportunity that most of the founding
members of PENSA who met in Chiangrai, Thailand
10 years ago came to join together in this meeting.
They are Prof. Zhu-Ming Jiang from China, Prof.Sun
Sunatrio from Indonesia, Prof.Hideaki Saito
from Japan, Prof. Chomchark Chuntrasakul and
Mr.Prinya Chotikul from Thailand.
Four abstract in
this newsletter derived from this recent meeting.
There are "Nutrition education in medical
curriculum" by Dr. Rakesh Tandon from India,
"Sharing in nutritional support information
technology: the media for knowledge" by
Dr. Teruyoshi Amagai from Japan, "What
is and how to in safe early enteral feeding"
by Dr. Tzu-Ming Chang from Taiwan and "Fatter
older women have lower mortality" by Dr.
Kwok Timothy from Honkong. There are many more
interesting topics which will be published in
the next newsletter.
The next PENSA meeting
will be held in Seoul, Korea in October 1st-4th,
2005. The abstracts due is before June 30th,
