Dear
PENSA members:
The second
PENSA newsletter focuses mainly on the academic
issue. We have four abstracts from the 10th
Meeting of PENSA in Pattaya, Thailand. The first
abstract, "Consecutive determination of
nutritional status using Subjective Global Assessment.
A predictor of hospital stay and hospital charge"
by Dr.Chindavijak B and her team. The second
abstract, "Prognostic value of energy metabolism"
by Dr.Hisataka M and his team. These two papers
stress the importance of nutritional assessment
and support on the outcome of the patient. The
third abstract is, "Body composition measurement
and its application to clinical practice"
by Assoc. Prof. Ross C. Smith and the last abstract
is "Prealbumin as prognostic indicator
in critical ill patients" by Mrs. Sang
Hee Chae and her team. All of these papers are
retrieved from the program book of the 10th
PENSA Congress in Pattaya, Thailand in October,
2004.
We would like to
use this opportunity to invite you all to the
11th PENSA Congress in Seoul, Korea this October.
Professor Myung Duk Lee the president of this
congress has sent the announcement to the PEN
Societies in every countries and it is also
can be downloaded from
http://www.pensa2005.org.
In this congress, you will be able to keep up
with the latest and most update knowledge as
well as to share your knowledge and experiences
with each other PENSA members. In addition,
getting to know each other will accelerate the
cooperation among our PEN Societies. Anyone
who are interested in joining the congress will
get an early registration rate until July 31,
2005. So do not hesitate to apply.
