PENSA members:
It may be late to say Happy New Year to you all. However, happiness has no time limitation.
Thus, we wish you a year-through happiness and success.
In this newsletter, we present 5 topics from the 12th PENSA Congress in Philippines.
The first topic; “Safe, effective parenteral nutrition from the factory to the vein. The role of the pharmacist” by Patrick Ball from Charles Sturt University,
Australia. The second paper; “The experience in Australia & New Zealand” by Dr. Andrew Davis, the president of AuPEN, Melbourne, Australia.
Members of the Australia PEN Society (AuPEN) has involved more in our activities and in the future, we may have a joint congress together.
The third paper; “The development of nutrition screening based on nursing assessment tool of hospital” by Mi Jin Jeong et al,
from Chonbuk National University Hospital, jeon-ju, Korea. The forth one; “What is new in parenteral nutrition?” by Assoc. Prof. Staffan Bark from Karolinska Institute,
Sweden. The last one; “Clinical trials of an instant tube feeding in enterally fed patients in a hospital setting”
by Celeste Tanchoco and his team from Philippines.
News from the Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutriiton of Thailand (SPENT); Dr. Thanyadej Nimmanwudipong
has fulfilled his term as a president of SPENT. Professor Chulaporn Roongpisuthipong is now a new elected president of the society. Her photo and brief
introduction is presented on the first page of this newsletter. However, as she has been a speaker for the PENSA congresses for many times, those who
attended the congress are sure to know her. We also would like to ask all of the PEN society to send the information about changing board member to us.
We try to make this newsletter a communication tool for our members. Thus, if you have any opinions, suggestions,
or activities in your countries to share, please fell free to send them to us. Your contributions are welcome.
