Dear
PENSA members:
Happy New Year!. The coming year may not be easy for us all with those
unpredicted natural disasters and economical crisis that are going to affect the whole region. These, may also affect the health services in many
countries. With lower budgets and decrease capability of the people in taking care of their health. Thus, our PENSA’s motto might be
“Optimum nutrition support, for better quality of care with lower budget!” To optimize nutrition support, we need keep with all new knowledge,
practices, and share what we have learned.
In order to do so, many books, journals and academic meetings are available. In addition, this newsletter provides you a short glance at the
interesting topics mentioned in the past PENSA conference. They are; “Early enteral nutrition after surgery for the upper gastrointestinal cancer
patients” by Dr. Ryoji Fukushima from Japan, “Nutritional support in gastrointestinal fistula” by Dr. Jianan Ren from China, “Nutrition support in
acute pancreatitis: What is the score?” by Professor Rakesh K Tabdon from India, and “Prevalence of patients at nutritional risk among those who
underwent gastrointestinal surgery for cancer” by Hosun Lee and Choong Bae Kim from Korea. We hope that they are beneficial for you.
Please do not forget that the next PENSA meeting will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next year. Please prepare your scientific papers and
